Fees are the state's standard fee for a domestic LLC; some states charge more on paper or add online convenience fees, noted on each state page. "Varies" means the amount depends on income, assets or ownership. Estimates are for planning only.
What an LLC annual report is
An annual (or biennial) report is a short filing that confirms your LLC's address, registered agent and managers or members are current. It usually comes with a state fee. Skip it and most states first charge a late fee, then dissolve or revoke the LLC, which costs more to fix than the report itself.
Some states have no report but charge a separate tax instead, such as Delaware's annual LLC tax or California's $800 annual tax on top of its Statement of Information. Those costs are listed alongside each state's report. For the full cost of starting and keeping an LLC, use the LLC cost calculator.
